PURPOSE:To both miniaturize an electric discharge lamp device and perform easy screwing of its Edison base, by containing a stabilizer having a ring-shaped winding core almost concentrically in a cylindrical vessel concentrical to the Edison base and housing a lighting controller in the inside of the winding core. CONSTITUTION:A winding 8 is wound respectively to each side of a squared ring shaped winding core 7. The winding core 7 forms a stabilizer 9 for an electric discharge lamp with the winding 8. The stabilizer 9 is housed in a cylindrical vessel 2 in such a manner that the winding core 7 is almost concentrically located to the cylindrical vessel 2. A lighting controller 10 having a glow starter 10a is housed in the inside of the squared ring shaped winding core 7.
