Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the continuous thermal cutting by setting the rising time from zero to the current setting level of a power output characteristic of a power source for heating and cutting a member through the plasma arc, at lower than specific level. CONSTITUTION:The rising time frofm zero to the current setting level of a power source output characteristic of a power source 9 for producing and maintaining the arc between a member 1 to be cut and a heating electrode 4 is set a lower than 50msec. The insufficient heating distance in such power source 9 is 1.5mm. even when the cutting speed is 200m/mm. thereby the intermittent cutting will cause no problem. Since the cutting can be performed continuously under constant heating condition, high effiency, high quality intermittent cutting similar with the continuous cutting high efficiency, high quality intermittent cutting similar with the continuous cutting can be performed.
