Abstract

PURPOSE: To have an even grinding on the surface of a workpiece with unevenness to a certain degree and to reduce sparks and noises by making a cylindrical grinder element composed of many thin discs and by providing each disc with a material as buffer to the rotary shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A steel workpiece is placed on a table 2 and moved by an upward feed roller 4 and a downward feed roller to undergo grinding on its surface with a grinder element A. This grinder element A is formed in a cylinder composed of ten to several tens of grinding discs 3 piled longitudinally one over the other. Each grinding disc 3 is mounted on the rotary shaft and has a buffer bearing 16 of hard rubber, outside which a buffer spacing 18 formed by the top 17 of a star is provided in connection with the inside 15 of the grinder. Because each grinding disc 3 is independently born by the bearing 16, vertical movement is allowed to a certain degree and thereby a smooth ground surface is obtained from steel plate with unevenness in the surfaces.
