Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a solar heat collector easy to install which does not require a sun-tracking device by a method wherein the heat collector is made of a hollow drum lens which is provided with a plurality of grooves on the circumference of the transparent hollow drum of semicircular section along the length directin thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A lens 5 is manufactured by a method wherein a hollow drum 1 of semicircular section is formed of a transparent body like synthetic resin or glass, etc. is enclosed by a bottom plate 3 and cover plates at both ends and on the inner circumferential surface 1b of the upper half part with the lower half parts 1a, 1a left on both sides of the hollow drum 1 there are provided a plurality of grooves 4 composed of two surfaces 4a, 4b having an intended angle along the length direction of the hollow drum 1. On the focus of the solar heat rays of this lens 5 there is provided a water tube 6 excellent in heat conductivity along the length direction of the hollow drum 1. When the sun is in the range of about 15° and 165° to the horizon, the heat rays are focalized on the water tube part 6 and can heat it.
