Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the lining refractories of a ladle for casting in a vacuum chamber for the purpose of degassing treatment from being damaged by the collision of molten steel by dividing and scattering finely the molten steel flow passing through a teeming nozzle at the time of teeming the molten steel into said ladle from an intermediate ladle.
CONSTITUTION: An intermediate ladle 1 and a vacuum chamber 2 are connected airthightly via a refractory nozzle 8. A ladle 3 for casting is put into the chamber 2, and its inside is evacuated to a vacuum with an evacuating pipe 11. Next, the molten steel 4 in the ladle 1 is teemed into the ladle 3 in the chamber by opening a slide valve 7 provided to the nozzle 8 of the ladle 1. At this time, the leading end of the hole for passage of the molten steel of a refractory nozzle 8 is formed of plural small holes 16 inclined outward, by which the molten steel 4 flowing down from the nozzle 8 is dispersed in plural different directions and drops into the ladle 3; therefore, as compared with the case where the entire amt. drops down to a fixed place, the impact that it gives to the lining refractories of the ladle 3 is small and the damaging of the lining refractories by the collision of the molten steel is extremely less.
