Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of anomalous combustion in engines using alcohol by a device wherein a temperature detecting means is provided to detect temperature at the central electrode of an ignition plug or in the surrounding thereof, and a fuel injection amount is increased when the detected temperature is above the preset reference temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A central portion 1 of an ignition plug 2 is drilled through and a thermo couple 13 seriving as a temperature detecting means is disposed in a central electrode 7. The respective terminals of the thermo couple 13 are connected to terminals 17, 18 provided at the rear portion of the ignition plug 2, respectively, through a platinum wire 14 and a platinum rhodium wire 15 housed in an insulative tube 16. A fine current from the thermo couple 13 is input to a control unit 6 as a temperature detecting signal similarly to signals from other various sensors. The control unit 6 serves as to drive and control a fuel injection valve 5 in accordance with the signals from the various sensors. At this time, when the temperature detected by the thermo couple 13 exceeds the preset reference temperature, a duty ratio of a pulse signal fed to a fuel injection valve 5 is enlarged so as to increase a fuel injection amount.
