Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the molding time significantly by facilitating the molding with a simplified process through simultaneous heating and molding of a thermoplastic sheet material employing a high temperature/pressure fluid.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet material 11 is securely grasped between an upper die 1 and a lower die 4 and expanded to a molding die section 5 of a lower die 4 being heated with a high temperature/pressure fluid fed from a fluid feedpipe 3 with a valve 3a opened and brought into contact therewith the high temperature/pressure fluid is withdrawn out of a fluid withdrawing path 1b and always renewed. Then, the valve 3a is closed and with the upper die 1 lifted, a deformed sheet material 11 is cooled with a cooling water under a decompressed suction by means of a vacuum pump. The vacuum pump is stopped and the sheet material 11 is separated from the dies with a fine pressure air pipe 9 to withdraw.
