Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the influence of irregular reflection, and to improve the estimation accuracy of the elevation angles of a target and make accurate tracking possible by changing over transmisson frequencies at every transmission pulse thereby making the irregular reflection components received by a radar noncorrelative. CONSTITUTION:An oscillator 14 of variable frequencies changing transmission frequencies at every transmission pulse or every finite time is provided to a transmitter in a radar device tracking a target positioned in low elevation angles. An averaging circuit 15 averaging the elevation angle information of the target corresponding to the transmission frequencies obtained from a computer 13 estimating the elevation angles of the target through using the complex signals obtained from an antenna is provided to said computer 13. In this way, the received irregular reflection components are made noncorrelative by changing the transmission frequencies at every transmission pulse and the estimated value of the elevation angle of the target obtained at every transmission pulse is averaged, whereby the variance of the estimated values is reduced, the estimation accuracy of the target elevation angle is improved and the accurate tracking is accomplished.
