Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned conveyor that can maintain a high printing speed irrespective of the kind of letter, by providing blanks or damy types that do not take part in printing in blocks that make up type sets so as not to form an odd block.
CONSTITUTION: In case the number of type array data of 140 bytes is converted to the number of type array data of 384 bytes by electrical control, blanks or damy types that do not take part in printing are provided to 30, 48, 60 and 120 kinds of letter on the type conveyor having 240 types: the number of damy types is 2 for 30 kinds of letter, 4 for 60 kinds of letter, and 8 for 120 kinds of letter so that the totals of the kind of letter are 32, 38, 64 and 128, respectively. The type sets of these blocks are provided in the number of 12, 8, 6, and 3 blocks, and therefore 384 types including damy types are provided not to form an odd block.
