Abstract

PURPOSE:To record by superposing another signal on a signal which is recorded already, by providing a pair of recording and reproducing heads having a half space of the whole width of a recording track, and simultaneously scanning two tracks through a fine adjustment mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Recording and reproducing heads 21a, 21b are mounted to a head mounting base 22 so as to have a half space of the recording occupied width to be formed by a recording track, and are finely adjusted up and down by a motor 32 through a screw shaft 29 and gears 31, 33. By this constitution, only a video signal is provided to the head 21b, and in case when the number of tracks is 2n pieces, it is recorded in the 1-n-th track. And, in case when it is desired to add a voice to the video signal, the video signal is reproduction-monitored by the head 21b, and simultaneously it is recorded in the n+1-2n-th tracks by the head 21a. When reproducing, it is executed by both said composite signals or only one signal. In this way, recording is made by superposing another signal on a signal which is recorded.
