Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a coater suitable for coating of long-length object by providing a supplementary tank whose lower part alone has an opening at the upper part of a paint tank and positioning its opening part below the top side of outer wall and inside of the paint tank.
CONSTITUTION: A paint tank 12 whose bottom has an opening through which paint passes and a driving means by which the paint tank 12 is moved toward the lower side of an object 1 to be coated are provided. And, a supplementary tank 21 whose lower part has a liquid supply port 22 above the paint tank 12 but the other side is closed is provided. The liquid supply port 22 is opened below the top of the outer wall and inside of the paint tank 12. Thus, in case paint is present in the supplementary tank 21, the liquid supply port 22 coincides with the surface of paint in the paint tank 12, the sum of the pressure of an air chamber 23 inside the supplementary tank 21 and the liquid pressure is balanced with the atmospheric pressure, and paint is not supplied from the liquid supply port 22. When the paint tank 12 is lowered and paint is coated on an object 1, the level of paint is lowered as the paint is consumed, an aperture is formed between it and the liquid supply port 22, paint is supplied from the supplementary tank 21, and then the liquid level of the paint tank 12 is raised, restoring the condition to original one.
