Abstract

PURPOSE: A room-temperature air-curable resin composition capable of providing cured products having low tackiness and excellent heat resistance and solvent resistance, prepared by adding a vinyl monomer and a polymerization initiator to a specified unsaturated polyester.
CONSTITUTION: Component (A): as an acid component, an organic acid mixtuer containing 30W70mol% fumaric acid, 27W60mol% alicyclic unsaturated dibasic acid and 3W20mol% 9,11-octadecadienoic acid, component (B): a polyhydric alcohol based on ethylene glycol. To 100pts.wt. unsaturated polyester obtained by reacting components A and B are added 20W200pts.wt. vinyl monomer and 0.1W5pts.wt. polymerization initiator per 100pts.wt. of the sum of said unsaturated polyester and said vinyl monomer. Tetrahydrophthalic anhydride is particularly preferred as the alicyclic unsaturated dibasic acid, because it provides unsaturated polyester resin cured products excellent in heat and solvent resistance.
