Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve substantially the bleed resistance of a top coating, by applying a primer containing pigment flakes to a urethane molded article and then applying the top coating.
CONSTITUTION: After the primer 2 containing 3W95pts.wt. pigment flakes (e.g. flakes of aluminum powder) is applied on the surface of urethane molded article 1, the top coating 3 is further applied on the primer 2.
EFFECT: Pigments in the primer are laid one upon another because of their leafing properties and cover the surface of the urethane molded article. Therefore, even if an additive in the molded article bleeds out, it is bindered by the pigments and cannot move into the upper layer. Thus, the upper layer is kept almost free from a bad influence on it caused by the bleeding of an additive.
USE: Automoble bumper.
