Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify construction and to improve operability, by a construction wherein in the titled apparatus a compressor and a cooling device are provided to compress and cool a boiling off-gas of liquefied natural gas, and further a condenser utilizing liquefied natural gas is provided to cool and condense said off-gas. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature of liquefied natural gas (LNG) stored in a storage tank 31 is elevated by heat from the outside, said gas is evaporated and the vapor phase 33 of boiling off-gas (BOG) is formed. The vapor phase 33 of this BOG is introduced into a compressor 36 for BOG to compress BOG, cooled in a refrigerant-evaporator 39, and then introduced into an LNG-condenser 46 where BOG is cooled and condensed by LNG32 supplied through a pump 44 from the tank 31. The resulting condensed liquid is recycled through an expansion valve 51 to the tank 31. LNG used for coolig BOG is introduced into the compressor 36 for com pressing BOG to mix it with BOG.
