Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the sound feeder sections from being influenced by the soft circuiting in one feeder section by a method wherein gate signals are given to the thyristor elements of semiconductor switches at the electric railway in which direct current feed system is employed.
CONSTITUTION: Intermediate sections C1 and C2 are provided between the feeder sections A and B. When the power running current flows in a overhead line 5, the current I flows, resulting in outputting an H level signal from a current detecting circuit 22. On the other hand, the currents I2 and I4 are zero, resulting in outputting L level signals from current detecting circuits 23 and 25. As a result, the output of an AND circuit 32 is H level signal to send gate signals to thyristors 16P and 17P in order to stop gate signals of thyristors 16B and 17B. Under the condition mentioned above, even if a short circuiting accident occurs in the feeder section A, an abnormal current does not flow from the feeder section B through pantogrphs 13 and 14 and the car to the feeder section A by being interruped with a section 3.
