Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the attachment work of an elastic toroidal object, by a method wherein, when the elastic toroidal object is secured to an idler, a perforation, extending in prallel to the idler axis, is formed, and a fixture is inserted thereinto to secure the elastic toroidal object.
CONSTITUTION: When an elastic toroidal object 8 is secured to an idler 2, after tube hole 30 in each segment of the elastic toroidal object 8 matches bolt holes 34, 34 in the idler 2, a bolt 36 is inserted into the matched hole from the side of the idler to secure the bolt thereat. This facilitates operations to attach the elastic toroidal object to the idler, and eliminates the need for a bolt fitting hole bored in the outer peripherl wall of the idler 2, which results in preventing the deterioration of the strength of the idler. A rigid tubular piece 28 is embedded and secured in the elastic toroidal object 8 to hold the tubular piece with the whole part of the bolt 36, and this strengthens the attaching part.
