Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a developer scraping effect, to eliminate fatigue of the developer, and to facilitate rotation of a rotary cylinder, by reducing intensity of a magnetic field at the center of the 2 poles with the same polarity almost to zero in a magnet roller using permanent magnets. CONSTITUTION:A hollow cylindrical part 9 is formed in the center of a shaft 8 made of a nonmagnetic material such as aluminum in order to reduce a copying machine in weight. A block magnet 10 having a ferromagnetic yoke 11 on its surface is provided on the outer circumference of the shaft 8 at the position in which 2 poles of the same polarity face each other in order to prevent occurrence of a magnetic pole there and to reduce a magnetic flux there almost to zero. In such a magnetic roller, a magnetic flux between the 2 same polarity poles is near zero, permitting a developer scraping effect to be remarkably improved, fatigue of the developer to be eliminated, and rotation of the rotary cylinder to be made extremely easy.
