PURPOSE:To obviate the loss of a molding material, by filling a cavity with an insufficient amount of the molding material, and further filling the cavity with the molding material remaining in a runner section so that the whole cavity is completely filled with the molding material. CONSTITUTION:The cavity 2 is filled with an insufficient amount (80-90%) of the molding material A so that partially unfilled parts B remain, and a cylinder 10 is actuated to lower an extrusion means 5 so that the molding material A remaining in the runner 1 is additionally filled into the cavity 2 to completely fill the whole cavity 2 with the molding material A. As the amount of the molding material remained in the runner is minimized, the loss of the molding material is reduced. The present method and apparatus are suitable for molding a thermoplastic resin.
