Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase an angle where the output of a potentiometer varies linearly by amplifying and synthesizing two out-of-phase detection signals. CONSTITUTION:According to the rotations of a potentiometer, 90 deg. out-of-phase triangular wave detection voltages EA and EB are generated. Those voltages EA and EB are amplified into a composite voltage E0 through an operational amplifier A1, connected to the resistance circuit of resistances R1-R3 and R5 an R6 having an equal resistance value and a resistance R4 having a resistance value a half the said value and having feedback-connected diodes D1 and D2, and an operational amplifier A2 applied with a reference voltage -Ep. This voltage E0 has values, as shown by equationsIand II, at rotation angles 0-180 deg., and 180-360 deg., and the waveform of the composite voltage E0 varies linearly at 0-270 deg.. Therefore, the effective angle, such as 0-180 deg., where the output of the potentiometer varies linearly is increased to 0-270 deg., etc.
