Abstract

PURPOSE: To continuously perform uniform painting on an uneven surface to be painted, by changing the density of bristles of roll brushes which spring out paints onto the surface to be painted, corresponding to the unevenness of the surface to be painted.

CONSTITUTION: A painting object 2 is placed on a conveyor 1 which moves along the direction A, and a paint 5 is supplied to a roll brush 3 located above the conveyor 1. The brush 3 rotates in the direction B, and, when bristles 32 to which the paint sticks strike a baffle board 7 and get over the baffle board 7, the paint is sprung out onto the painting object 2 by the elasticity of the bristle 32, and thus, the painting is performed. The bristle 32 of the brush 3 is set in accordance with uneven shapes of the surface of the painting object. That is to say, the bristle is relatively sparsely set to sections which correspond to flat parts of the surface of the painting object 2, and relatively densely set to sections which correspond to inclined parts. The setting density is increased as the inclination of the painting surface increases. Because of such adjustment in the density of the bristle, the amount of paints is also adjusted corresponding to the unevenness of the painting surface, and painting of the same density can be performed not only on the flat surface, but also on the inclined surface.
