Abstract

PURPOSE:To cut the prescribed position although the rolling conditions vary, by detecting the two division points of a rolled member from the rolling length and then tracking these division points until they reach a coil converging device. CONSTITUTION:When the tip of a rolled member 1 is detected by a material detector 16, a counter CTR1 counts the pulses sent from a pulse transmitter 18. Then a coincidence signal 21 is transmitted to a counter CTR2 when a coincidence is obtained between the count value of the pulse and the value set to a setter DSW1, and thus the counter CTR2 counts the pulses sent from a pulse generator 20. When a coincidence is obtained between the value of the counter CTR2 and the set value of a setter DSW2, a detection signal S2 is delivered to drive an iris driving device and a cutter driving device 13. In this case, the value from a detection of the tip to an arrival of the two division points to a conveyer 5 is set to the setter DSW1; while the value with which the two division points reach a cutter 11 is set to the setter DSW2 respectively.
