Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent formations of tear and thickness deviation and to perform burring smoothly, by extruding a spherical punch inserted into pipe bodies held by the upper and lower dies to the outside of the pipe bodies through a hole installed in the wall of the pipe bodies with right and left pushers inserted from both ends of the pipe bodies.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe body 6 is held by an upper die 1 and a lower die 2 while a bottom hole 6A installed in advance in the wall of the pipe body 6 and a hole 8 of the lower die 2 are fitted concentrically. Then, a spherical punch 3 is put into the pipe body 6, and then, a right pusher 4 and a left pusher 5 are inserted into the pipe body 6 from both ends. Both pushers 4 and 5 are advanced in the pipe body 6 along opposite directions to each other under a condition where their locations and speeds are maintained under the same condition, respectively, against the center of the hole 8 of the die 2. Then, the punch 3 is extruded to the outside of the pipe body 6 along the hole 8, and thus, a section on which the burring is performed 7 is formed. In this case, a tapered face 9 is installed at the front end section of both right and left pushers 4 and 5 so that an inclined face having an angle with the axis of the pipe body 6 may be formed at the front end section of both pushers.
