Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce molding time considerably by moving a gushing head body having a gas supply port and a blowing head contg. mulled sand vertically at short strokes, and moving only the lightweight cover member horizontally. CONSTITUTION:An elevating table 8 is moved upward by a cylinder 2 to mount an upper metallic mold 9 on a lower metallic mold 4, and a blowing head 27 is moved downward by a cylinder 28 until it abuts on the mold 9. The muled sand in the head 27 is packed into the cavity formed by the molds 9, 4. Thence, a cover member 37 is carried into between rail members 34 by a carriage 38. Next, a gushing head body 13 is lowered by a toggle mechanism until it abuts airtightly on the mold 9, thence the member 37, etc., are moved upward to abut airtightly on a flange part 13a and to close an opening 13b. A tightly close space is delineated by the member 37, the body 13, and the upper mold 9. A prescribed hardening gas is supplied through the gas supply port of the body 13, and is flowed into the cavity of the molds 9, 4, by which the mulled sand is hardened.
