Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a composite steel ingot in which the boundary part of a core material and a casting material are throughly press-stuck and joined despite the small forging ratio by forming the core material for producing composite steel ingots for forging into a specific shape provided with waveforms on the circumference.
CONSTITUTION: Beforehand a core material 5 is suspended to a suspension fitting 4 by means of a suspension rod 3 in a mold 2 on a molding board 1, and molten metal 7 is teemed by a bottom pouring method through a rising port 6, whereby a cast material 8 is formed. Here, the surface of the material 5 is uniform in a height direction and is worked with waveforms in the cross sectional face. The wave height h(cm) and pitch l (cm) of the waveforms are set like the equationI[D is the thickness or diameter (cm) of the core material]and equation II. The core material is set at D≥5cm in order to leave it in the state of solid without melting the same during casting or solidifying of the molten steel.
