Abstract
PURPOSE: To weld piping groups and the like interlinked in narrow space adequately under remote monitoring by interlocking a torch rotating mechanism mounted with a monitoring means for welding condition to axia and diametral position adjusting mechanisms for electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: Pipes are clamped, and a motor 28 is run to move a welding head body 42 by means of a gear mechanism, thereby moving a torch 44 in the axial direction of a groove part 45. The positioning thereof is accomplished by a monitoring mechanism provided with an image fiber 46 provided remotely on the same circumference as that of the torch 44, a monitoring device 52, etc. Namely, which viewing the picture of the monitor 52, the operator remotely adjust the position of the torch 44 in the axial and diametral directions of the electrode by means of gear and revolving gear mechanisms. The rotation of the torch 44 is accomplished by driving of a U-shaped rotary disc 68 operated by a spur gear 123 or the like meshed with the spur gear 124 of the electrode diametral adjusting mechanism. A wire feed fitting is supported to the disc 68. A wire feed mechanism is interlocked to the electrode diametral adjusting mechanism.
