Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled pigment powder giving corrosion resistance by simple application to the surface of a steel material, which is prepd. by the incorporation of a zinc alloy powder contg. a specifed proportion of Ti and Mn.
CONSTITUTION: A zinc alloy consisting of 0.2W4.0wt% Ti, 0.1W3.2wt% Mn and the balance of Zn and inevitable impurities is crushed into a powder of ≤325 mesh, to obtain a Zn alloy rust-proofing pigment powder for a paint. 70W90% said pigment powder is added to an org. paint and binder such as a polyurethane or phenol, or to an inorg. paint and binder such as ethyl silicate.
EFFECT: A coat keeping excellent corrosion resistance in a severe environment for a long time is obtd. by applying the resulting paint to the surface of a steel material.
