Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to carry out appropriately production of water gas and ordinary dry quenching, by furnishing a dry quenching, equipment of coke oven with a steam inlet pipe and a connection pipe for crude gas to made free changeover between introduction of steam and that of inert gas into the quenching equipment possible.
CONSTITUTION: Red heated coke discharge from a coke over 10 is received in a coke bucket 12 on a coke car 11 to be transported by a lifter 14 through a lifting tower 13 to the top of a quenching, chamber and then charged from a charging means 15 through a prechamber 2' into a quenching, chamber 2. In the quenching of the coke, valve 6, 7 are closed and a valve 5 is opened to introduce inert gas into the bottom of the chamber 2 by a fan 1 and thus the coke is cooled. On the other hand, the heated inert gas is heat-exchanged by a boiler 3 and then returned through a cyclone 4 to the fan 1. In the production of water gas, a valve 5 is closed and valves 6, 7 are opened to send steam into the chamber 2 and to gasify the coke. The resulting water gas is sent through the connection pipe for crude gas to a purifying process. Operation of valve is carried out by an automatic control device.
