CONSTITUTION:A platen cover 1 is so mounted as to turn around a hinge 2, and a cushion 3 is affixed to this cover 1. The surface of the cushion 3 is covered with a ''Mylar '' sheet 5 and this sheet 5 is made longer than the lenght of the cushion 3, the deeper side thereof is fixed to a ''Mylar '' fixing plate 6 provided to the cover 1. The front side is mounted likewise to a ''Mylar '' mounting plate 8 connected freely rotatably to a bracket 7 provided to the cover 1. If the cover 1 is closed successively, the sheet 5 contacts the original gradually from its leading end side and therefore the position deviation of the original is obviated.
