Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a vehicle for medicine, having excellent stability, feeling to the skin, washability with water, dispersability in water, solubility in the drug component, etc., and composed of an ethylene oxide addition-type hydrophilic nonionic surface-active agent having an HLB of ≥12, a polyhydric alcohol, and an oily substance.
CONSTITUTION: An ethylene oxide addition-type hydrophilic nonionic surface-active agent having an HLB value of ≥12 (e.g. poloxyethylene hardened castor oil) is mixed homogeneously with a polyhydric alcohol having two or more hydroxyl groups in the molecule (e.g. propylene glycol), and an oily substance (e.g. a mineral oil) is added to the mixture to obtain the objective vehicle. The weight ratio of the surface active agent to the alcohol is 1 to 20W2, and that of the surface active agent to the oily substance is ≥1 to 20. The vehicle may be incorporated with a water- soluble polymer soluble in the polyhydric alcohol (e.g. PVA) and inorganic powder (e.g. silicic anhydride) to improve the visco-elasticity of the product, or ≤15wt% of an oil-soluble surface-active agent to adjust the HLB value.
