Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the breakdown of an engaging unit due to an impact of a permanent magnet and to improve the friction scratch resistance and wear resistance of the surface of the unit by forming a metallic film on the surface of the magnet. CONSTITUTION:A variety of metals are adhered to the surface of a permanent magnet 1 by a vacuum deposition process, and a metallic film 1a having a thickness of at least 1mum is formed. The metals include gold, silver, rhodium, copper and so forth, and have a color tone and gloss as well as strength as engaging unit surface layer material. Thus, the breakdown of the engaging unit due to the impact of the magnet can be eliminated, and the friction scratch resistance and wear resistance of the surface can be improved.
