Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to select the suitable torque in accordance with the condition of operation in which the motor is used without changing the source voltage by a method wherein rotor windings of the required phases are formed using a plurality of groups of windings, and the windings of each group are switched and connected using a turn-number change-over switch. CONSTITUTION:This motor consists of the rotor 1 consisting of a permanent magnet, the stator 2 having the rotor winding of two groups, (a)and(b)groups, for each phase, the turn number change-over switches 4R-4T which perform switchin of the rotor winding for each phase between the state wherein the stator winding in the same phase is connected in series and the state wherein the stator winding of the other group is disconnected, and the excitation change-over circuit 5 which is used to switch the excitation for the stator windings of each phase successivly. Accordingly the torque can be increased when he motor is operated at a low speed and the torque can also be reduced at a high speed operation, thereby enabling to select a suitable torque in accordance with the condition of operatin without changing the source voltage.
