Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction of setting space for the subject inverter by a method wherein the output transformer, to be used to obtain three-phase output from the polyphase multiple inverter, is constituted resembling to a wound-rotor type induction motor. CONSTITUTION:A DC power source 1 is connected to 18-phase self-excited voltage inverter 2 consisting of 6-phase inverters 21-23, and the output thereof is fed to load 4 through the intermediary of an output transformer 3. Also, the output transformer is formed into the shape resembling to the wound-rotor type induction motor using an outer core 35, having eighteen slots, and an inner core 36, the first windings 31, 32 and 33 are formed in a concentrically wound delta connection, and the secondary winding 34 is wound as a set of star connection. Accordingly, a magnetic field spacially stepped by 60 deg. is formed, and as the inverters 21-23 temporally function making a phase difference of 20 deg. in electrical angle and a composite magnetic field is turned to a magnetic field which is spatially stepped by 20 deg., thereby enabling to obtain three-phase voltage which is close to a sine wave containing no higher harmonic in the secondary winding 34.
