Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a super thin film having excellent selective separability and excellent permeability for separation of mixed gases by dissolving a polyolefin or a diene polymer in a specific solvent and then diffusing the solution on the surface of water. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of a super thin film of a polyolefin or a diene polymer, having excellent selective permeability and separability for mixed gases, a C5-C10 alicylic or aromatic hydrocarbon compound in liquid state at ordinary temperature is dissolved in a solvent, and then the solution is dropped onto the surface of water in such a way as to diffuse it in a super thin film and also to vaporize the solvent. The solvent used includes hydrocarbon solvents such as to meet the equation [c1-(a1+b1)]>=25dyn/cm, where a1 is the surface tension of a polyolefin-dissolved solvent, b1 is the interface tension between the solution and water, and c1 is the surface tension of water. Thus, a superhigh film having excellent selective separability can be easily manufactured.
