Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve quality as well as shortening processing time by detecting the rotating angle by angle detecting means and controlling rotating speed of motor for rotation of lens in accordance with the rotating angle. CONSTITUTION:Lens 5 is cramped between lens holders 3, 4 for lens axes 1, 2 on the same axis so that the light axis thereof may correspond with the lens axis to be driven by the first motor M1 through gears 6, 7, 9 so as to make 6 or 9 rotations per rotation of the drive axis 8. The grindstone wheel 11 having a centering part 11a and a beveling parts 11b, c is driven by the second motor M2 to move in relation to a rotary position of the drive axis 8 toward right angle direction against the lens axis by feed cam 12, toward a direction in parallel with the lens axis by a crossfeed cam 13. The rotary position of the drive axis 8 is detected by projected parts 14-16 and micro switches 17-19, and the motor M1 is controlled so that the lens axis may rotate faster at the time of centering and more slowly at the time of beveling to make a rotary speed of grindstone wheel the best equivalent to the respective conditions.
