Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a novel electrostatic latent image formation method by applying an electric field from one side of a photoreceptor toward a transparent electrode, throwing light beams through the electrode from the other side of the photoreceptor on the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor is constituted of a cylindrical transparent dielectric made of silver oxide or the like. A transparent electrode 2 is laminated with a photosensitive layer 3 made of a photoconductive insulating light sensitive element, such as CdS, and a transparent dielectric layer 4 is formed on this layer 3. The photoreceptor 1 moves in the arrow direction, and a brush or the like grounded slides in contact with the electrode 3. Corona dischargers 7, 8 for forming negative and positive electric fields in the movement direction of the photoreceptor 1, respectively, are arranged on the side of the layer 4. A lamp 10 is arranged following the discharger 8 on the side of the electrode 2, it throws light beams 11 toward the electrode 2 to erase the electric fields of the layer 3, thus permitting a novel electrostatic latent image formation method to be obtained.
