Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily adjust tension of a conveyer chain, by lifting a part of the conveyer chain to a certain level of height and measuring tension of the chain further calculating catenary tension of the chain then adjusting the position of a tension sprocket in accordance with a result of the calculation.
CONSTITUTION: When tension of a conveyer chain is adjusted, firstly the chain stopper members 6 of a set tension measuring device 14 are hung to a link of the chain 5 to lift the chain 5 to prescribed height from the level of a conveyer mount 15 by an air cylinder device 1. Lifting weight at this time is measured by a measuring balance 2 to obtain tension T1 applied to the chain 5. Secondly the tension T1 is compared with catenary tension T0 obtained from a prescribed expression to perform tension adjustment in accordance with the compared result. That is, an adjusting bolt 21 and stop nut 22 are loosened to vertically move a bearing 24 of a tension sprocket 18 along rails 23, then tension of the chain 5 is adjusted and maintained to a prescribed value while measuring by the measuring device 14.
