Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically and continuously dehydrate a short fibrous matter with high efficiency without unevenness of dehydration, in a dyeing step or the like, by driving a couple of inside and outside baskets at slightly different speeds.

CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical second main shaft 7 of the first main shaft 6 interlocked by a differential gear means 5 is projected into the central portion of a casing 1. These main shafts 6, 7 are driven at slightly different speeds. The first basket 12 and the second basket 22, which form a couple of inside and outside vessels, are rotated. When a matter to be treated is charged through a feed cylinder 33 into the first basket 12, the matter is pushed up along the spheroidal inside wall surface to the upper opening of the first basket 12 by a centrifugal force, and pressed onto the first dehydrating part 16 comprising a perforated plate 15 spanned onto the inside wall of a ring body 13. Thus, the matter is dehydrated. Thereafter, the dehydrated matter is pushed up by the succeeding matter having a larger water content, carried into the second dehydrating part 25, dehydrated there, and then carried along projections 26 into a discharge chamber 30 due to the difference in speed.
