Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform inspection of roll formed articles automatically and efficiently by extracting the objects to be inspected out of the formed articles, which are rolled successively, from a roll forming machine, making sampling inspection of rolled shapes under revolution and inspecting press formed shapes simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:The specimen 10 out of the roll formed articles 1 released in an arrow (b) direction from a roll forming machine is captured with the artracting block 18 of a specimen extracting arm 17 which is swiveled and advanced, after which it is swiveled and retreated up to the home position of the arm 17, that is, the inspection position of the specimen 10. On the other hand, an inspecting gage 24 is advanced from the solid line position up to the chain line position; at the same time, it is touched in the direction tangential to the outside circumference of the rolled part of the specimen, that is, screw part 2, whereby the shape of the specimen 10 is inspected. While the specimen 10 is revolved simultaneously with this inspection, the entire circumference of the press-formed part thereof is inspected by another detecting element 30 which is brought in abutment on the press-formed part, that is the outside circumference of a heat 3. By these inspections, the lot production contg. no defective roll formed products is easily realized.
