Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a uniform paste film, in a sizing machine for a single facer for a corrugate machine or the like, by arranging a scraper at the downstream side of the feed part of a sizing roll and an upper paste reservoir between the scraper and a blade.
CONSTITUTION: Paper powder or other dusts dropped and adhered onto the upper surface of a sizing roll 22, which applies a paste onto a corrugated paper core being carried along the periphery of a roll 21 at a lower stage, is scraped off with an unused paste into a lower paste reservoir 27 by a scraper in accordance with the rotation of the sizing roll 22. The dust-contng. paste 26' in the lower paste reservoir 27 is filtered by a filter 28 during its passage through a pipe 29, and fed into a paste tank 30 where the paste is mixed with a new one in the paste tank. The mixed paste 26" is fed into an upper paste reservoir 24 by a pump 31, and used repeatedly. Thus, the paste, from which paper powder, dusts, etc. are constantly separated, is continuously fed, so that a stable sizing operation can be done.
