Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a printing apparatus capable of efficiently printing a ruled line or a figure such as a format of a chit or the like by obliquely arranging a recording image element on a recording head.

CONSTITUTION: A list 201 inserted into a read part 202 is stored in a first image memory 204 and, thereafter, is subjected to an edit treatment by an edit control circuit 206 and an edit program 207 and stored in a second image memory 205. Image information after the edit treatment is struck out but a printer has an image element obliquely arranged thereto and, when a line of a main scanning direction (a horizontal direction) is printed, a line 501 with a thickness for two dots in a horizontal direction can be printed by using image elements 403, 404 and, if a line of an auxiliary scanning direction is printed by using the image elements 403, 404 while a paper is sent to the auxiliary scanning direction, a line 601 with a thickness for two dots can be printed. Usual printing is carried out by converting an image signal read a every one line by a series oblique conversion circuit 208 so as to apply said signal corresponding to an obliquely arranged head.
