Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable tab setting every document as well as to enable to automatically change a tab setting position as the document is subjected to insertion and elimination treatment by inserting a tab code into a same memory every character code to enable insertion, elimination and movement thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An initializing key is pushed down to bring a Kerr cell CM to a home position and, for example, input of a character as shown by a figure is carried out. A B code is a tab code and applied by moving the Kerr cell to a predetermined position to push down a tab set key. Next, when the tab code is inserted into an already input document, an insert key is pushed down and, thereafter, the Kerr cell is moved to a desired position to inserted in the document and, thereafter, the tab key is pushed down.
