EXAMPLE: 3-Methylene-5-decen-1-ol.
USE: A raw material for an antimicrobial agent, perfume, high class cosmetic or an intermediate thereof.
PROCESS: An unsaturated hydrocarbon expressed by formula II is reacted with a formaldehyde reactant in the absence of a catalyst, preferably in ethanol, to give the compound expressed by formulaI.
