Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The disphenyl ether derivative of formulaI(R1 is alkyl or alkenyl; R2 is alkyl or haloalkyl; X is halogen or CF3; n is integer 1W3; when n is 2 or 3, X's may be same or different).
USE: Herbicide having higher selectivity and herbicidal effect than known herbicidal compound. It can be effectively applied for the control of noxious weeds in a paddy rice field or plowed land, at a low rate of application, with not the least phytotoxicity to crops.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIis prepared by reacting the N-substituted-2- nitro-5-phenoxyaniline derivative of formula II with a reactive derivative of a carboxylic acid of formula III (e.g. acid anhydride, acid halide, etc.). The reaction is carried out in an inert solvent when the acid derivative is acid anhydride, and in the presence of an acid acceptor when it is acid halide.
