Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A fluorine-containing diepoxy compound of formulaI(Rf is 1W20C perfluoroalkyl; Z is SO2 or CO; R, R' and R" are H or lower alkyl).
EXAMPLE: The compound of formula II.
USE: Intermediate of a water-repelling and oil-repelling agent, and a surface-active agent, additive for paint, mold release agent, plastic additive, etc.
PROCESS: The compound of formula VI is prepared by reacting a compound of formula Rf-Z-NH2 with a compound of a formula IV (X is Cl, Br or I) in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. of formula MAn (M is alkali metal or alkaline earth metal; A is Cl, Br or I; n is 1 or 2) or formula IV (R1WR4 are 1W24C alkyl, alkenyl, etc; Y is Cl Br, I, OH, etc.), in the absence of a solvent, or in a solvent of e.g. formula V (R5 is H or 1W4C alkyl; m is 0W200) or a mixture of the above solvent with other solvents. The reaction of the compound of formula VI with an alkaline compound affords the compound of formulaI in high yield.
