Abstract

PURPOSE: A refrigerating machine oil, containing a naphthenic oil and an organic molybedenum, capable of improving the load resistance characteristics remarkably, and having the oxidation resisting performance and metal inactivating ability without exerting bad influence on the oil and refrigerant resistance.
CONSTITUTION: A refrigerating machine oil containing 0.5W6%, preferably 4W5%, organic molybdenum expressed by the formula (R is 4W5C alkyl) in a naphthenic oil having a viscosity of 32W34 cst at 100°F.
EFFECT: Stable at a high temperature in the presence of a halogen refrigerant for a long time with the same properties, e.g. viscosity and pour point, as those of a refrigerant in the absence of the additive.
