Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the rotation responce of a crankshaft and prevent water at a large diameter part of a connecting rod by putting both each of a pin portion into a web from an opposed side surface of balance weights in such a manner as to longitudinally overlap a journal part.
CONSTITUTION: Both ends of a pin part 3 for connecting rod 5 in such a manner as to be freely relatively rotated are put inside an opposed surface S0 of a balance weight 4 into the interior S of a web 2, and the pin part 3 overlaps a journal part 1 in longitudinal direction of a crankweb 2, whereby the length of peripheral surface of the pin part 3 is increased and an increase in surface pressure is controlled to maintain the good wear-resistance of the pin part 3. This results in reducing the diameter of the pin pater 3 to small size and a balance weight 4 of lighter weight so as to improve the rotation response of a crankshaft and prevent wear in an early stage of large diameter part of a connecting rod.
