Abstract
PURPOSE: To automatically level a metallic plate efficiently with high accuracy by providing a clamping device, and a leveler having a measuring sensor for the quantity of bending deformation of a metallic plate, a leveling header for a bending deformation and a pressure convertor for measuring the pressing force at the leveling, and by moving said leveler in the longitudinal direction of the metallic plate.
CONSTITUTION: A metallic plate 1 is fed to a leveler 4 by a conveyor 3 and positioned in place by a centering device 13. The plate 1 is pinched and held at its both ends with a chucking device 5 and swiveled vertically accompanied with the rotation of the device 5 driven by a swiveling device 12 and moved up and down together with the device 5 by a lifting device 10. Next, by driving a traversing device 11, a leveler 9, moves in parallel to the plate 1 and stops at the moment when a sensor 74B detects bending deformation and; a shaft 65 moves in the arrow direction by driving a cylinder 61, and then; the plate 1 is leveled by the pressing force of a header 76, while supporting the force a clamp 8, and at this moment, a position of the header 76 is detected by a sensor 74A. After finishing the leveling, the metal 1 is lowered down by the lift 10 and swiveled reversely by the device 12 to level its back side.
