Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate removal of a can and to improve formability in ironing of a can body by specifying the shape, depth and intervals of the circumferential groove lines of a V shape in section formed on the smooth part of the specific roughness on the side face of a punch.
CONSTITUTION: The side face of a punch 4 is formed of a main side face part 4c, a shoulder part 4a and a constricted part 4d, and the part 4c of a right cylindrical shape is formed as a flat part of ≤0.05μm average roughness. Then, groove lines 11 of about 0.5W5μm depths extending circumferentially are formed on the smooth part at 0.05W2.0mm average intervals.
