Abstract
PURPOSE:To check a stroke shape in details and to obtain a high stroke extraction accuracy, by extracting a corresponding candidacy point by a simple distance between a stroke point and a feature point, and after that, extracting a stroke information being nearest a stroke shape of a standard pattern, from in the qualified point. CONSTITUTION:An input character from an input part 1 is brought to binary coding, and normalizing and smoothing processings of a position and size by apreprocessing device 2, and a character pattern processed by the device 2 is changed to a core having prescribed line width in accordance with a small line change algorithm by a small line change processing device 3. A feature point showing a geometrical shape of a character line is extracted by a feature point extracting device 4 from this character pattern which is changed to a core. Also, from in the feature point from the device, plural features are selected as a candidacy point corresponding to each stroke point of a standard pattern which is read out from a standard pattern memory device 5, by a corresponding candidacy point extracting device 6. Subsequently, from the candidacy points obtained by the device 6, 1 point is decided by a correspoonding point deciding device 7, and information being near a stroke shape of a standard pattern is extracted by a distance calculating device 8.
