Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform timing detection with good accuracy and to increase the accuracy of arrangement toward subscanning direction for information, by arranging two photodetectors near the subscanning direction, detecting optical beam after deflection and detecting the timing for information write-in, for good timing detection. CONSTITUTION:Two photodetectors PD1, PD2 are arranged near the subscanning direction of light beam. The output of the photodetectors PD1, PD2 is amplified respectively at amplifiers 15, 16. The output of the amplifiers 15, 16 is compared at a comparator 17 and when the relation of amplitude is inverted, the output of the comparator 17 rises from low to high level. The output of the amplifiers 15, 16 is inputted to an OR circuit 18 and the outputs are at high level when the laser beam is near the photodetectors PD1, PD2. The output of the comparator 17 is outputted through a gate circuit 19 with a high level signal of the OR circuit 18, and the input start timing of character information for one scanning's share can be determined.
